Two intensive days of outdoor sketching practice! Join Jenny Adam and Eleanor Doughty for a two-day sketching workshop in the 18th & 20th arrondissements of Paris. We will explore two different neighbourhoods and create mixed-media sketches on location, focusing particularly on colour..

The workshop will highlight two different approaches to using non-realistic color palettes. Techniques covered include using accent colours, split complimentary colour schemes, and textural palette building – specifically referencing the Parisian vibe and aesthetic. We'll also show students how to take advantage of the range of textures mixed media offers, loosen up their sketches, and practice for on-the-go travel sketching and using lightweight, limited materials.

There will be demonstrations and personal feedback from both teachers throughout the day.

Each day will feature a 3 hour workshop presented in the late morning. After that, there’s a lunch break, followed by a 2 hour afternoon sketching session for continuing to develop & practice what we’ve learned in the lessons. Instructors will be present for feedback.

Each day will have one workshop leader while the other teacher will assist.

The workshop language is English.

Registration is limited to a small number of participants.

The meeting point, schedule and other information will be provided via email a few weeks before the workshop takes place. Each workshop takes place in a different area of north Paris.

The fee covers tuition only - food, materials, and travel are the responsibility of the participants.
